Everlane T-shirts - Page 212

Hey taco, just wanted to let you know some of the changes we made to the fit.
  • Since we use turn back construction for the hem, we went from a 1/2" hem to a 5/8" hem. This will keep the hem from flipping up
  • Switched from 30's rib to 20's rib which is slightly thicker and will help ensure the collar lays flat.
  • Removed 1/2" in length on sizes XS-L
  • Sleeves are 1/4" longer on sizes XS-L

If I just ordered a Pine and Antigue crew neck T, will I be getting the new fit, or is there a chance they will be the old fit?

Aw I like the length as is but I guess 1/2" isn't much.

Hi Nan, was wondering if you could provide some clarification on the fit changes. In April, I purchased several t-shirts in the basic colors (white, muted black, slate). In May, I ordered some in the one-off colors (Mediterranean, light blue). These are about 1.5-2" longer than the t-shirts in basic colors.

Were the basic colors also changed to the longer pattern in the months since? Or, to rephrase the question, should I expect the new shirts to be 1/2" shorter than the basic color shirts from April or the one-offs from May?

Picked up an oxford in each of the new colors. Interested to see whether the arms are more like the older oxfords (slim with high armholes) or the linen shirts (looser with lower armholes). Fingers crossed for the former, but I'll try not to be too crestfallen if it turns out to be the latter.

I bought the merlot pocket crew neck a few weeks ago (when they still had them) and was REALLY disappointed by the color. The picture showed a dark red but the one I got was more of a brownish color. Anybody else have the same problem with this color?

Also, any chance of the heather grey shirts returning?

You don't want that to return. Quality is extremely bad on those. Stitching, neck, fabric, etc.

I'm glad they shortened the length!  The original tee was pretty much perfect tho.

Since we garment dye we have a tolerance of a 1/2" difference inch from spec. The basics colors you received may have been on the short end while the new colors you ordered might have been longer than we allow.

If spec said 10 and the first shirt you received is a 9.5. Then the second shirts your ordered are on the longer say 10.5 or more. If you ever have issues with the length let us know and we'll be happy to exchange them.

Here's the new lengths for the tees. Add half an inch to get the spec for the old tees.

  • XS 27
  • S 27.5
  • M 28
  • L 28.75
  • XL 29.5

Our production team is sourcing new fabric and another factory. We're hoping to bring it back in the spring.

You should be receiving the new fit.

Has anybody tried both J.Crew and Everlane slim-fit OCBDs? The J.Crew ones are the best-fitting OTR shirts I've been able to find, wondering if Everlane's would also work for me...

I know that the latest batch of backpack has been updated to feature a deeper and tighter-fitting side pockets, but I very unfortunately learned today they are still not quite up to the task yet. I had a water bottle and my Ray-ban wayfarers in both of the side pockets and somewhere between getting the backpack on and off my back while boarding the bus both of them fell out and were lost forever.

I am kinda upset, but more so at myself because I was too complacent thinking that the pockets were deep enough to sufficiently hold things. I didn't pay attention to the fact that they are still very loose (probably because of the lack of an elastic band component) and are cut at a dangerously slant angle. I have never had things falling out of my backpacks' side pockets even when I hold them upside down, but it looks like it just takes a motion for everything to fall out of the Everlane backpacks'.

This may not be a deal-breaker to you, but if you're getting the backpack I strongly recommend that you not put anything in the side pockets. Everything else about it is lovely, and though the loss of the wayfarers has cost me much more than the backpack itself I will just let my loss be a reminder to myself and perhaps to you.

Sorry to hear that.

So I got the two new oxford colors and the charcoal terry crewneck in the mail today, and I they're all going back. The arms are still relatively slim on the oxford and seem like they could be long enough, but it's unlikely they'd still be long enough after a machine wash and dry. More significantly, however, the armholes seem to have been lowered significantly since the first run, which is a deal-killer for me. The crewneck has the same issue with kind of low armholes, which means that the pit-to-pit is wider than it would necessarily have to be on a medium. I think the small would've fit better through the torso, but the sleeve and body lengths would both have been too short.

I'm not saying they should change anything, because it seems like they make their stuff to fit the typical guy, and I'm probably not built like the typical guy.

problem solved.
