Very well-articulated explanation, your post is a great contribution to this thread.
Pretty sure the cashmere sweaters will be right at Everlane's supposed $100 limit.
It was a question, not an explanation...not sure why the snark
The Everlane home page this morning said something like, "we're breaking the $100 mark to bring you the finest cashmere..." I'm not seeing that screen anymore, though.
It will be priced like the belts. You can buy a sweater vest for $75, but it's an extra $40 to have the sleeves sewn on. This is a good thing, because you can choose any color sleeves you want.
That better be some fine cashmere, doubt it will be though honestly and not sure why you would break the whole principle your company is founded on
Probably true...
Thing is, I've been really looking to find a light grey cashmere crewneck and I thought when everlane announced that exact sweater, I knew it would be a lock...but, not so sure now.
I guess if its hovering just over 100, no big deal. I'll just wait and see tomorrow.
Would rather just cop a Uniqlo cashmere and call it good. I am sure the Everlane will be better quality, but they need to show improvements on their cuts for me to think of spending $100+ on a single item from them.
Everlane's website says that they will be "breaking $100 to bring you the most beautiful cashmere"
What's the point of starting a company that is based on the premise of an (albeit arbitrary) price limit only to break it within the first six (?) months? I mean they can do whatever they want and I am sure people will still buy their products but why put yourself in a position where you'll end up being a liar?
