You must be really proud

I'll be first to say, from the poor lit photos, that the before after is good from initial look.

not in the slightest. the leather literally just soaked it up. I even poured water on it and tried to wipe it off and almost nothing came off. Im sure the color is now much more engrained into the jacket just 12 hours after the procedure

it seems that the distressing was a product of surface contact. when they removed the fine top layer of leather, it exposed the surface to the elements. the leather felt dry. took on the shoe cream very well.

Was the jacket sold distressed before or did a previous owner wash it?

thank you sir. ive been receiving the same questions so i thought id answer them here for the benefit of the community

Hi, I noticed your thread about the dye job on the MMM 5 zip.

After pics looked fantastic.

I am thinking of buying the exact same distressed brown 5 zip in my size, and then dyeing it.

Was wondering how your jacket held up over time? Does it still look good? Does it leave marks everywhere you lean against? Does it feel tacky?

Thanks very much! Definitely wouldn't have thought about buying it in brown unless I saw your thread!

Jacket has held up well - no leather creme rubbed off. The leather glows but doesnt shine if that makes sense. I would do it again

was considering dyeing my TOJ gray lambskin moto black after Obenauf's oil made it splotchy. What did you use, this?

And just spread it with a brush? Any help is appreciated.

i used this in boar brown

its not too shiny so thats a big plus. saphir makes high quality stuff, creme doesnt rub off and the creme is free of foul/chemical smells

I think the biggest reason why this worked out so well is because the MMM jacket came pre-distressed and the leather was also a little dry so the jacket soaked up the creme evenly. I used the shoe polish dabber typically found in shoe polish kits
