You get some kids that benefit from being around the opposite sex, but plenty of others who either have horrible relationships that fuck them up for years, or are just way too shy/immature to deal with it and avoid them. I'm in my late 20s and some of my college friends still have wacky relationship patterns that they set when they were in high school. Not surprisingly it's not helping their adult life much. Not an obvious decision, anyway.

Actually this is true too. While exposure to the opposite sex is obviously good, some time in single-ed stuff (be it sports or whatnot) is good.

if not i think i'd at least train them in mathematics and computer science after school

I'd definitely supplement education, but learning to deal with BS is an important skill.

Yes, it's obviously a group meant to parody those who are against same sex marriage as a tool to support it.

Read the about page:

It's not their civil right! If this becomes legal then society will fall to pieces. Polygamy will become legal, people will marry their dogs..

what the fucking fuck is that shit and why is everyone so obsessed with it?

You don't get why people are affected by this? I think it's silly to read into it as much as people do, but it's still a great moment.

it's amazing that it took so long for the real story behind this photo to come out. i, for one, am very very glad to know that people have been working on this in the 3+ years since the photo was taken, and that their dogged and relentless pursuit of the truth is finally presenting itself. it is a bit of an innocuous coincidence that it's getting a lot of press now that it's election season. it probably just took that long to track down the boy and his family and anyone else who might have been there in that special, touching moment.

No, it's completely vacuous. I could not give half a shit if the president, senator, or any other national figure let some kid grab his hair, give him a high five, or anything else legal and unimpressive. It's a political ploy put out as a character boost and a way to detract from other things.

Meh. Its not nearly as bad as, well, basically the rest of what the political press is publishing.

I don't disagree with this, I just don't understand what was so impressive about this particular story that I've seen it posted on facebook by multiple people.

Oh. Yeah, IRDK either. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.
