Quote:
WASHINGTON—Striking down the judicial precedent that established the legal supremacy of right over wrong more than two centuries ago, the U.S. Supreme Court on Wednesday overturned Right v. Wrong.

The landmark reversal—a bitterly contested 5-4 decision that has been widely praised by murderers, rapists, bigots, usurers, and pro-wrong advocates nationwide—nullifies all previously lawful forms of right and makes it very difficult for Americans to make ethical decisions or be generally decent human beings without facing criminal charges.

"It is the opinion of this court that the Constitution was crafted in such a manner as to uphold and encourage practices that are not right and, ideally, are very wrong," Justice Antonin Scalia wrote for the majority, which also included Justices Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, Anthony Kennedy, and John Roberts. "Despite the compelling case for goodness, truth, and justice made by our predecessors in the case of Right v. Wrong, we firmly believe that malice, dishonesty, and injustice were the framers' original intent."

...

I was a little offended by this until I realized it's a parody of the liberal media's coverage of the Roberts court. I mean, I think it is a parody of the media.

Ever since they switched from vbulletin to visual basic, there doesn't seem to be any way to turn your avatar off. Or is there?

As much as I appreciate an image of the good Reverend Fred Rogers flipping the bird, I miss javyn's former avatar. Have no idea what the painting actually is, but I know it's on the cover of the Penguin Classics edition of Huysmans' A Rebours.

How so?

I dislike WalMarts business practices of flooding the market with cheap shit from China, which ships our money overseas and hurts our businesses. However, I also blame the consumers, as we live in a semi-free market and since I try to buy Canadian/American/EU made goods as much as possible, I feel like I can safely blame the people who actually shop there for WalMarts success.

All this tells me is you think white people making things is better than yellow people making things.

Possibly? peepwall[1].gif

Also, I realize that WalMart probably also sells stuff made here - I also dislike things re: customer service. However, the point is that the comic is a gross over simplification of the situation, and that if you hate walmart that much, don't shop there.

I just thought it was funny that she went shopping at Wal-Mart. There are plenty of alternatives to Wal-Mart.

What I liked was that the congenial greeter, no doubt not making a great wage, was the object of her lashing out. Yes, yes, he can fix your life but is just refusing to out of spite. Indeed, he deserves your anger and clearly provoked it.

So you believe people in our semi-free market choose to shop at Walmart for Walmart's success rather than shop there because it gives them the most utility?
