Economics is used to describe and predict. It's completely apart from morality or ethics. Your morality or ethics should inform your choice of economic decisions vs. what you're doing, i.e. believing in perfume farting rainbow unicorns and then trying to cobble together something you deem "economics."

Economics is one of the most ideologically charged disciplines there is so no, what it does is put the framing of the discussion on social organization in the hands of technocrats and their framing is to make the economic the structure on which the political superstructure depends. This isn't a necessarily right-wing viewpoint btw, traditionnal marxism does exactly that.
