Seriously. I'm a CEO and I don't make that in a month.

I'm the one who needs a fucking raise, apparently.

Why do 1%ters always want to quibble about facts? They make their money on the backs of the poor and less fortunate. #ceotax

Considering the "minimum wage earner" is probably a teenager whose parents pay for the milk in the house I'm not sure why I should care.

That's a pretty naive approach.

Lol, I worked at Arby's for two years.

According to articles that have been floating around Facebook, the average age of a minimum wage employee is something like 37. I assume that's being distorted by old people getting second careers at Walmart after retiring, but it's for sure not just all kids living at home anymore.

Lots of criminals too, I'd assume.

It's Your choice, do you want sex offenders working as Subway Managers or as Subway Sandwich artists?

^^ The median and mode are probably more insightful than the mean.

I actually go to Walmart somewhat regularly, I have worked in big box stores before. Anecdotally, there are a few different kinds of people there working the low paying jobs (which actually pay ~$10/hr typically)

  1. Old people - typically the greeters, etc
  2. High school and college kids (especially Best Buy for college kids)
  3. People who don't have the skills to do anything else

Once we have driverless cars/trucks, automated fast food kiosks I expect the poors to start manifesting their frustrations with more crime. The low crime rate across the nation now is the calm before the storm.

If we can legalize weed the poors can be effectively managed by being stuck at home smoking pot and playing xbox.

That FB pic has the CEO earning $42 million a year.
Quote:
In 2011, the median private company CEO in our survey earned a total compensation package of $362,900. That is just 3.8 percent of the number reported as “typical” in the Associated Press study. For private companies with at least $1 billion in revenue, the median CEO compensation package totaled just under $1.7 million, which is still less than 18 percent of the AP figure.

The AP figure, which focuses on S&P 500 companies, is $9.6 million, or less than 25% of the figure being used by the FB moron.

This isn't explicitly political, but it turned political, so I'll put it here rather than the other FB thread.

A friend of mine teaches at a college in Orlando and lives in Sanford. She posted a joke picture about the "harsh winter" Florida experienced for a couple days last week, entirely to be silly (e.g. no political undertones). This, of course, didn't stop the "derp, derp, JUSTICE FOR TRAYVON!!11!" crowd from making an appearance, because any conversation that includes Florida is now legally required to include comments about, or allusions to, the "murder."

A couple gems:

Wow, I've never noticed before how much Florida even looks like a gun.

Didja have to go all Donner Party on your neighbors?

Since George Zimmerman lives around the corner, consider it neighborhood improvement.

I'm pretty sure you could kill them all and no court would convict you. Stand your ground.

Actually, the Donner Party line in the context of a "harsh" Florida winter is kinda funny.
