I mean just get rid of all marriage. If people want to sign private contracts promising to support each other then that's their own business. The taxpayers shouldn't be supporting widows through social security anymore than they should be supporting gay widows (?) when one partner dies. Eliminate all marriage deductions. This isn't 1950 anymore, women are now evil feminists and they should have to support themselves just as much as men if they claim they want to be equal. That goes for the bottom of the gay relationship as well.

Again, I know this will never happen so might as well give the homosexuals the same bullshit we all have to deal with. Frankly it's not fair that I can marry some dumb bint who can steal half my money in a divorce while those gays get to go around having all kinds of awesome sex willy-nilly without any repercussions. Welcome to the hell that is marriage, you dummies.

that's the thing, marriage has always been a legal institution, along with a religious and social one. It's not something that government just recently took an interest in. I don't think taking all of the government's involvement in it is as easy as people like to think it is. There are thousands of laws in the US alone that would need to be rewritten.

A few days ago on FB I posted this link:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/business/economy/obama-administration-pushes-banks-to-make-home-loans-to-people-with-weaker-credit/2013/04/02/a8b4370c-9aef-11e2-a941-a19bce7af755_story.html

With the comment "Awesome Onion article today."

The first two comments were from the same guy:

Confused. Is that a serious article or satire? I know the onion is satire but the link is to the post.

Or are you saying it should be an onion article but unfortunately it's not?

Oh absolutely, it would not be easy at all. And there'd be a long period of transition dealing with the people who are already married. But in the end I believe it would a societal good.

I mean it's going to have to happen sooner or later anyway once we all get sexy robot bodies and upload our brains into computers. Who the fuck would want to stay married to the same person for like 10,000 years? Especially when you can have completely real-feeling virtual sex with absolutely anyone who has ever existed. Marriage is definitely on the way out at some point.

I always enjoy when John Hetfield tells the story of why Dave Mustaine was kicked out of Metallica.

CNN Headline of the Day:

"Growing threat of extreme right-wing violence" related to the prosecutor killing in Texas.

Yes, it is a national crisis that a few white people are getting shot. Possibly by other white people. Who may or may not have ties to a "right-wing" groups.

from the article
Quote:
Since 9/11, at least 29 people living in the United States have been killed by right-wing extremists

Sounds like an average weekend on the south end of Chicago.

So are white nationalists terrorists or enemy combatants? Or are they still entitled to constitutional protections? Should we just drone bomb them?

A report from the Combating Terrorism Center at West Point released in January found that, "In the last few years, and especially since 2007, there has been a dramatic rise in the number of attacks and violent plots originating from people and groups who self-identify with the far-right of American politics."

LULZ. 29 people over 12 years is a "growing threat". Get a job, asshole.

By %-difference, it's huge! HUGE!

The article admits the # of left wing domestic terrorists is > 1, therefore under the ABSCAM theorem, this is a bipartisan problem.
