Internet atheists are never in any short supply. If you need proof of this, scroll down to the comments section of any HuffPo article even peripherally concerned with religion. "LOL SANTA CLAUSE LOL"

More recently, I've taken to referring to them as "internet retard atheists". Don't let the name fool you, however— you'll often encounter them in real life as well!

I don't think I've ever met anyone in real life that admitted to being an atheist. Few of my friends are religious, but they all have that "spiritual" thing going on.

I'm an atheist but I hardly ever say it in real life. I found out long ago that it's just asking for a really annoying conversation, and I am tired of trying to explain to people why "you can't PROVE there's no god!!!" isn't a valid argument.

A few months ago, my sister and brother-in-law took my parents out for dinner. From all reports, my brother-in-law had a few too many, and something set him off, and he began loudly and angrily proclaiming his own atheism, and accusing my parents of being members of a cult, and continued ranting so loudly and angrily and at such great length that- according to my father- he ended up clearing out their section of the restaurant.

Also, he refuses to visit my parents' house during the Christmas season, so my sister just shows up without him. He lives 20 minutes away. I think I've seen him twice in the last year.

Rational!

Being religious or atheist doesn't stop an individual from having manners..

It's sad people can be so intolerant .

Yeah I don't get offended by other people's religious beliefs. I don't give a shit about nativity scenes or prayers at football games or any of that stuff. I have a few objections here and there but in general religion and I get along.

Lol. I'm a total atheist but I go to church anyway because the business is great. Any sensible atheist would keep his or her atheism to him or herself.

I'm an atheist. Most everybody I know is. We are mainly nice people. When somebody says that they are "spiritual but not religious" I know there is a high chance I will want to cut their head off and shit down their throat.

I've been thinking about doing that very thing. This church is up the street from me http://www.centraluccdallas.org/events/ and they seem pretty reasonable, and it's small enough that there's a good chance I would be the only lawyer there, or at least the only one in my specialty and price range.

I keep my lack of belief quiet. My lack of belief is really not something that defines me much so it is no burden. I've found people can handle a statement that you worship the devil better than they can handle the thought you do not believe in a higher power. I enjoy Xmas greatly and distance myself from militant atheists. If your atheism defines you that much you have the same issues as any fundie.
