April in Paris: Franken-Omega-Vintage oddball beauty - Page 2

Nice strap, pity it is matched to an atrocious redial (with off-axis subdial, nice), oversized hands, and what looks like an unsigned manual winding crown on an automatic.

In fact, the more I think about it I don't recall an automatic movement with a subdial seconds from the era which I think the watch is from that quite fits overall.

Based on the dial style it should be a cal 26* - i.e. from a manual winding family. Unless it is a cal. 490 but that dial and case don't make sense to me.

nice watch strap.

after buying a watch that came with a leather strap now i know better to stick with metal bracelets. finding quality leather straps are a real PITA.

One question - why would you have more than one hole in the strap if it is custom? Seems like one advantage of a custom strap would be not needing to have more than one size and having the length perfectly tailored.

That's a damn good question.

Future adjustability. Weight gain/loss, change of preference, or to go full on WAYWRN-over the cuff style.

Seems like an excuse to have more than one strap made wink.gif

I prefer deployant clasps so I guess the point would be moot if I was to get a custom one made...
