Moccassins with suits?

I pulled it off the other day at work actually and drew a lot of attention/negative criticism to myself. lol
I had forgotten my regular black laceups and decided to put on my dark brown pair of RL Driving mocs with a basic navy suit, with no socks.
People were just looking and commenting the whole time.
Was it a no no?

I say that was a "No no."
Brown + Navy is a yes.
But that is only applicable in the dealing with leather.
But under the circumstances you had to do with it what you could.

lol i was indoors the whole time.
Most people in Montreal go to work in the winter with 2-3 pairs of shoes, im my case 3.
Gym, dress, winter shoes.

Theoretically, I suppose it could be done. In practice, it sounds scary.

For a summer look and a casual event, driving mocs with a linen suit and a sports or camp shirt might look good.

No socks at the office is a no no.

At the airport recently I saw two older fellas in business formal suits, ties, and socks-exposing low vamp rawhide style brown moccasins. Even if this does make moving through the security line slightly smoother, they both looked dreadful.
