Thats kind of ironic considering they are on the forefront of electronics and manufacturing technology. Even Japan is falling drastically behind in regards to cell phones. Pretty much the only worldwide global cell phone competition the Koreans are getting is coming from Nokia. That being said, the US is so damn far behind the rest of the world in cell phone functionality and usability due to the size of our country and the crippling regulations foist upon us by the FCC.
I'd say that there is really no reason not to get a Samsung or LG phone. Samsung and LG tv's are also pretty good. Not sure If I'd buy a car, but the Kia we rented in CA was pretty damn solid for being new and under $10k.
Just for clarifications sake, the iPhone is using Samsung processors.
