Hi SF,
Apologies if this question is in the wrong thread/forum. I just got a pair of John Fluevog leather chukkas in medium brown color to wear for a ballroom dance class.
After class finished, I noticed dark wet spots on the vamp part of each shoe. After some investigation, I realized the wet spots were caused by sweat from my own feet that had migrated through the leather from within. Needless to say, it looks weird.
Is this a sign of a defective shoe design, poor quality leather, or just a case of the wrong color of leather combined with too-sweaty feet? Is there anything I could do to prevent this from happening again (such as treating the leather), or should I return the shoes for a refund?
I don't really want to have shoes that will show a dark spot any time my feet get hot.
Thank you!
