Help!!

Need some advice.. My bf wants shoes for his birthday birthday and i'm just hopeless...what shoes go with jeans? like a nice runner/casual shoe, not too chunky and not too slim.. and not too white, no vans or cons but something cool and maybe navy!! SO CONFUSED! please help
