Alden sizing help (Grant Last)

For all you Alden fans out there, a quick question.  I purchased a pair of Alden split toe cordovan loafers (style 1030) a few weeks back and I'm having some sizing issues.  The shoe is on the Grant last, which seems to be one of their less common.  The salesperson at the Alden on Madison (NYC) store put me in a pair of 11.5 C, which seemed to fit perfectly at first.  Now I feel some pressure around the ball of my foot and on the outside of my smallest two toes.  I think the width is correct as I can move my fut left and right a bit inside the shoe, but I feel it may just be a little on the short side.  I would like to order another pair (mine are color #8 and I would like a black pair, as well), but I can' decide if I should go up to a 12 C.  I definitely think I need a little more room in the toe area, but I'm concerned that there will be too much heel slip considering the 11.5 shoe allows some slip.  I went to a local store that sells Aldens, but none on the Grant last.  I tried on the tassel moc (style 563) on the Aberdeen last and the 12 C fit perfect.  Any thoughts on sizing similarities between the Grant and Aberdeen lasts?
