I hear ya. My current pair is the navy denim, which is a looser weave...so because of the stretch and different feel of the fit, I sized down to a 30. I do not have a 30" waist shog[1].gif

Another thing to note: we updated our fits for FW13, brining in the leg opening and calf by about 1" on both the narrow and slight fits. The dark indigo that you got was only used for SS12, so you've got a bit more room in the leg...which helps explain sizing down an extra size. When you buy your next pair (when, not if!), you won't need to size down so much.

Bought a pair of the new season (Fall 2013???) Black Tonal Slight fit at Sydney's last night. Thought I've give them a try, as I'm always on the hunt for a black button-fly skinny jean (and the price on these is great).

Initial thoughts:
- cut is super slim (I guess they slimmed it down even more as mentioned above)
- length is 35 inches now which is a huge plus given that I like to stack my skinny jeans
- quality of the denim seems solid (the black ones are lightweight of course, basically the same weight as a pair of black levis)
- patch is pretty cheap (but as mentioned in this thread, that's a detail they elected to save money on to keep price point low)

Anyway, I'll keep you posted on how these work out, as the true test of a new pair of jeans is how they look 30 wears down the road. I'm hoping these work out for me, as I really needed a good denim brand that I could easily try on (3sixteen's double black as sick, but I'd have to go to NYC to try on a pair).

The design of the jeans has shown improvement over the seasons - like the longer inseam, like that the selvedge pocket thing is gone. And the cuts seem to be improving. Kudos to Sydney.

That is great to hear. I love my pair in black but always wished that it was a tad bit slimmer in the leg opening.

I've been wearing my black pair with white usdg ocbd pretty much everyday. Apart from a weird smell the jeans had at the beginning, they're perfect

If they measure 35" long, they're the FW12 (and SS13, and FW13...) fit. We don't plan to change the fit at all in the foreseeable future (and we're ready to show FW13 at market next week, so we're talking at least a year...but likely much more).

Like you said, the patch is something we opted to save a few dollars on. Even just a little saved on our cost, then off of production, then off of wholesale, then off of retail means noticeable savings for you guys in the end.

The 9 oz black denim will soften up considerably and be a great lightweight pair for year-round wear. They have the comfort of a heavier chino with the structure of denim...a great mix, IMO. I geek out over heavy denim as much as anyone, but sometimes comfort becomes a priority (or maybe that's just my age starting to show!).

Ha...yeah, something about the black denim. It's not a "bad" smell by any means, but it's definitely different.

And speaking of us showing the FW13 collection at market next week...holy shit, does it look good! It's definitely the season that will push us to the next level. Just wait...

Hey Gavin, just checking back in to see if you received  the jeans yet. size 29 should be good for my exchange size after wearing a pair around a few days(Momotaro) and they are finally manageable

Could I get measurements (or be directed to measurements) for the Slight Fit Indigos in a size 32? The 31's did not work for me. (via: too much slightness at the ankle)

Thigh (1" Below Crotch) -- 23"
