I found this forum through basic google research about a week ago, and you all are definitely more knowledgeable than myself. Anyway, I own just two suits, a Calvin Klien that I bought years ago for some reason or another, and a Hugo Boss, which I am happy with because of how it fits me, but now know I way over paid, at Macy's full retail price. Either way, I am looking for a serious upgrade this time. However I just cannot tell about this suit. I don't know that if in person it will just look loud and silly. Also, is this way over priced, being as some tailoring will be involved too. Don't hold back, and thanks for all the advice, here and the past week.

It looks nice but I don't think you need a super 150s suit if you only have two others.

Also, I apologize if I put this in completely the wrong location, I am still figuring this part out.

That's a serious step up from where you're at, but if you've lurked enough to think you're ready - the good news is you've got a 3 day return. So be ready to make a real, serious judgement and possibly return if nec. Be prepped to take pics and post here immediately if you're unsure about fit and/or what can be adjusted and how far.

As a practical matter, you could split what you're spending on this into 2 pretty good to really good suit scores and do your wardrobe a favor by getting a wider rotation, but that's up to you.

GIve it a whirl - I'd love to see a "fit critique" thread from a self-described noob landing their first Brioni icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

What Razl said. You should start out seeing what fits your body style. At least go to a store and see which brands and cuts fit you best and what you like. That is a very big suit. Do you know your measurements? It is very hard to adjust shoulder width and just about impossible to correctly fix jacket length, not to mention expensive. If you want to go up-market, I would suggest some BB GF suits on sale as they really are a good value when had for less than $1000 and you get the customer support of walking in a store and deciding what fits you best.

No doubt, it's a nice suit, but I wouldn't get it. Not a fan of the self stripe or the 2.75 roll 2.

This is the problem with ebay and elsewhere... usually the stuff that you would normally actually buy aren't listed.

If this were 2 buttons and navy or dark grey, I'd be all over it.

For you, I recommend trying different suit models until you have what fits you well without too much alterations. I'm at a stage where I don't want to deal with this anymore since my body is hard to fit. Practically nothing fits me well enough to be happy OTR. Minus, of course, Zegna Milano. Hence, I'm going bespoke.

I'd stay away from BB, but I know most people would recommend them. They're just much too boring for my liking.
