Good blazer color for very thin, olive skinned guy

Hi guys,

I'm looking to buy a few blazers, perhaps even get them custom made, and I'm trying to figure out what colors would suit me best. So I'd appreciate your input.

I'm olive skinned, and also very thin. Here's a pic from my blog.

I friend recommended me to choose black or navy-blue, because they go with just about anything, but I'm not sure those colors would suit me, considering my skin color and constitution.

What do you think?

Solid navy and patterns in darker colors come to mind. I'd stay away from tan and earth tones.

I'm noob enough that I hesitate to make style judgements around here, but I'm going to weigh in. I think that you're right. You want the jacket to contrast with your complexion, so it's either got to be very dark or very light. You're lucky; as a pale skinned haole, the navy blazer is really my only recourse, while you can wear a very light/white color and highlight your exotic beauty. As it were.

That said, as a thin guy (I am also), you must always remember the three primary F's of style;
Fit
fit
and, fit.

Why don't you go to few shops and try out what they offered?

You should rely on strong colors like (black), navy or white and stay away from pastel colors in my opinion.

A really dark brown I think, no patterns. Something like this colour but in what style you prefer

Navy, Olive, Black, or very light, like a cream linen.

I'm of the opinion that the shirt is more important than the jacket in terms of matching skin tone since it's the shirt that's right next to your face and hands.

You're lucky, you can wear solid white shirts, which will contrast nicely and cleanly with your olive skin... those of us with reddish/pinkish pale skin from more northern climes look washed out in white, so I'm limited to light blues for this shirts in my conservative business dress suiting. If you got even tanner this would look really sharp:

its all about contrast here I think..

you have dark hair and fairly light skin, therefore I would go for something on the darker side. Your best color is probably charcoal but navy or a darker pattern in herringbone can also work.

I have a cousin who is having problems choosing the right suits. I guess, this will look good on him.
