Allen Edmonds - Good Value?

Thread Starter

I'm looking to buy a nice pair of dress shoes & wanted to get some opinions on these ones:

http://www.amazon.com/Allen-Edmonds-Strand-Perfing-Walnut/dp/B001TDL038/?tag=leacel0f-20

Let me know what you guys think. Thanks.

Can't go wrong w/ Allen-Edmonds - high-quality, decent price, made in the USA.

They're a good value, especially on sale.

If the particular Allen Edmonds shoes you're interested fit you properly and are comfortable to walk in, then they are a great value.

Allen Edmonds are the only things I buy at retail price. I almost always buy from the store itself because of their great customer service. If I don't like a shoe for whatever reason, I can just basically bring it back. I had a pair of loafers from the Italian collection that would get white toes from the overly soft leather hitting the pavement, and they let me return them and buy another pair. Then I had another pair of loafers that would not soften up and would hurt my foot every time I wore them... so I brought them back and got a different pair. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif Also, they're one of the few brands that has narrow width shoes to accommodate my feet.

I own three pairs and I'm sure I'll own many more in the times to come. They are excellent shoes for the money and I personally find them to be very comfortable. If you can get them on sale, you pretty much cannot get a better shoe for that price point.

On sale, they're impossible to beat.  At retail...eh.  Add another $100 and you are right at the cost of  C & J from Plal (assuming they have your size).  Overall, can't go wrong with the AE's on sale.

A Malaysian shoe store that sells C & J for low prices, but they are only selling their current inventory, because C & J doesn't ship to them anymore.  You can google them to see their selection.

I'm right there with you. I bought some Daltons a few days ago and went back in yesterday because I'd forgotten to get some new shoe trees and a separate guy (that didn't help me) was like, "Oh yeah - you bought the Dalton the other day, right? Size 8.5D?" Everyone there was very homely. Made me feel like we had been buddies for five years.
