This was a gift from my boss. I kept it for a few months before I just sold it. It is pretty solid. Made in USA. You can't beat the quality. If I needed a sterling silver money clip I would buy a...

Best Verizon Smart Phone? - Page 2
Yeah I got some clarification on this today. Does it apply to adding a new line to a family plan? I wonder....
New to SF but I know my smart phones. Android in particular. So i'll give you my two cents if you dont mind.
Best smartphones on Verizon:
1. Galaxy Nexus - If you want cutting edge operating system software, very good specs internally, are willing to accept a few bugs while Android 4.0 (ics) is worked out (there are really very few anyway), very nice slim profile, best screen available on a verizon phone (movie ratio dimensions, Samsung super amoled screen), lightweight, large screen but doesnt feel unwieldy in the least.
It's a great phone. Best phone on the market for any US carrier right now, imo.
2. Razr Maxx - this is a nice, super slim, lightweight, android (2.3 for now, 4.0 later) device, for those who want a phone that IS NOT AN IPHONE, but doesn't necessarily care about android. Motorola is going to hide the ball a little bit with their user interface, which is skinned over the top of android operating system.
The best part about this phone is battery life - it's probably the best battery life for any smartphone in the country. Make sure you go for the Maxx, not the regular razr.
3. Iphone 4s - The same thing that made every iphone great - It's a beautiful design, everything just works, it's incredibly easy to use (although ICS is getting there real fast), and it syncs with all your mac products if you already have them.
Pros: prettiest phone available. Cons: it isn't 4g LTE, unlike the razr maxx and gnex, and it's restricted to what apple lets you do with your phone, unlike the android phones. Some find this perfect, some find it boring. But honestly you can't go wrong with any of these three phones. Anything else on verizon and you're deluding yourself.
btw - if you sign up for a 4g LTE phone with verizon on a new plan right now, they will give you double the data - so, 4 gb for $30 dollar data plan. I dont think this applies to iphone 4s bc it's not 4g.
it takes some getting used to but I'm slowly learning to really like it.
i personally hate the skins that overlap non-ICS android phones so the nexus was the only droid i was considering.
4g is killer fast and awesome.
if theres one reason not to get the nexus, it's the battery life. the battery life SUCKS. i never had battery anxiety with the iPhone, but i have it everyday with the nexus. if you're a moderate-to-heavy user, the battery life WILL get to you, 100% guaranteed.

i have the galaxy nexus and had iPhones before switching to android.

That's true, you need to stay by a charger, but there is an extended battery that's only slighter larger that will give you about an extra hour or two of juice.
Or carry a spare.
i have the extended battery.
i still have trouble getting through an entire day on a single charge.
and who the hell carries around spare batteries? that's such an annoyance.
^true i never carry a spare. I also have the extended and i get thru the day unless I've been doing some very heavy browsing. Anyhow, I'm at school during the day, so I keep a USB with me and plug in to my computer if I need to.
Iphone's battery is slightly better than gnex, tho, that's true.
Razr maxx is supposed to have the best battery available currently.

the iPhone's battery is VASTLY superior to the nexus'.
granted, they're totally different phones with different size factors, but I could easily get through 1-2 days on my iPhone with moderate usage and full screen brightness.
keeping 4g on and full brightness on my nexus all day would literally kill my battery in 4-5 hours.
conclusions: i'm just a spoiled techno-brat who expects the galaxy nexus to be able to last throughout the day and more with 4g on and full brightness.
well you HAVE to use wifi on any 4g device when you can, or toggle off the 4g and use 3g if battery life is a priority and you aren't going to be near a charger all day.
Personally, i just use wifi when im at home and at school, 4g whenever i'm not (live in NY so it's a good 4g signal pretty much everywhere).
Also keep my brightness on auto - saves alot more battery than you might think.
And the 4.65 inch screen is a huge drain, for sure. Battery life is almost completely dependent on screen-on time.
And I haven't owned it, but I've heard the Iphone 4s battery life leaves alot to be desired.

yup.. i know that all 4g phones available today have serious battery limitations (sans the razr maxi).
i also keep it on auto brightness to save my battery. as for the iPhone 4s, i've only owned the iPhone 3g and iPhone 4 -- both had stellar battery life (compared to my nexus, at least). always had full brightness on them.
the screen just looks better.
