JCP Stafford Signature - canvassed?!?

I was at JCPenney today with the wife and out of boredom started to play around with the suits and I could've swore that a ~$150 Stafford Signature suit was canvassed!!! I mean, I could feel a thick middle layer on the jacket, completely separate from the top and bottom layers. It was definitely not fused - the top wool layer was as thin as a bed sheet...

 

Can someone with more finger experience confirm/deny this?

I am really tempted to go and buy the jacket just to cut it open and see what's that all about...

hey, go for it. Cut that thing to hell. I can't imagine for $150 it would be even half canvassed but stranger things have happened.
