Where to buy style in India?

Most affordable "high street" brands available in India - CK, FCUK, Zara, Tommy and the like get blown to smithereens here on SF. Brands like Armani, Boss, Canali, Paul and Shark etc. remain luxury for all but a fraction of style conscious Indians.

So where does one buy good (read SF respected) and affordable (T- shirts<50$, Jeans<100$ and so on..) style in India?

True, Bespoke and MTM are great alternatives for suits, shirts and trousers. But what about jeans and T shirts?

@Uzairh -  You're right. Finding tailors who specialize in making quality jeans can be a challenge though.

An issue in India is people go custom made not for better fits and style, but to cut down on costs. Buying "Branded" goods is, (in general) seen as an indicator of higher social status in this country.

@XCrunch  - Buying online has it's gaps. I feel you ought to "try on" a pair of jeans or shoes before ordering them online. Besides, only a handful of brands ship to India and when thy do, they are subjected to heavy import duties.

I would really appreciate it if an SF member (Indian or not) could list down brands (not tailors, as is usual) where you can get "good" stuff - nice shoes, nice jeans, nice suits - in India.SUBMIT

Just out of curiosity, where in India are you?

I live in Delhi. Of the last 5 jeans I have bought, all have come from US based retailers, same for last 12 shoes. Delhi is pretty dry if ou want SF approved stuff. Even for non SF stuff, it is quite expensive. I got 12 shirts from LANs ends canvas for 250 usd. You can't get comparable shirts for 20 usd here.

I do get my office / MC shirts made from Vaish at Rivoli. Fine but don't expect Naples finest.

One shop worth having a look at sale time I.e. currently, is Boggi.

Badiya, sir.

Just lemme know what you want. No probs.

Regarding Kashmir, I don't know what you know but an Indian can go to any part of Indian Kashmir without any hassle. But I am not going to Kasmir anytime soon. Ask your dude to courier it to me and I will send it your way. Or let me know what you want, loads of Kasmir fabric available in Delhi from pashmina to the banned shahtoosh.

Yes. SF Code: Spend all of your money on expensive stuff you can't really afford to show off to e-friends. Saving up is for fools.

To be fair, this is true with most hobby sites/message boards.
I am sure on RCcarforum.net, people would think any car worth <$100 is useless crap and should never be mentioned.
