Were is each member based?

Hi all,

 

Simple question really.

 

Those registered to this forum, what country are you living in at present?

 

Reason for asking is I am considering a selling membership, and I know its seemingly a US based forum, I am interested to know how many members are from the UK, Europe and anywhere else in this wonderful world.

 

Help gladly appriciated.

 

Thanks in advance.

 

I will start with saying in am based in Liverpool, which is a city in England, UK. The home of the Beatles, Liverpool FC (John W Henrys team), Everton FC (Tim Howard and Landon Donovans team), the Liverbird and much more.

I seem to have done the poll wrong. I have asked a Mod to edit.


Wanted to add the following options to it as well

 

- Canada

- Europe

- Asia

- Australia/New Zealand

Fairly sure that this isn't actually allowed. You're doing market research on a website owned by the administrators.

The research is for us to gauge whether its worthwhile paying to sell/advertise on this website. Don't want to pay out for advertising only to find about 5% of members are based in the UK.

I would have thought the owners/administrators would have this sort of data already, I'm sure they'll tell you what you want if you ask.

I doubt J, et al., will give out information about the location of our members for this purpose. Have you really thought this through?

Sheesh, I'm surprised at how retarded some people are these days.

Oh, I don't think they will give out information about individual members either, but I'm sure they have information on geographic spread of members. And why would they be hesitant on giving out such statistics? It's good business for them if more retailers can offer their services through the forum (as long as it's stuff that's relevant for the members of SF).

Exactly - why would they bother collecting such data if not to aid the sale of advertising on the site and increase their revenue? The OP is a potential customer for them, with a legitimate query about whether enough of the membership is based in the UK to make the cost to his business worthwhile. I imagine they would be happy to tell him "x% of our members are in Europe" of whatever. Obviously they won't give out specific information about individual members.

You would need a complete list of all countries, caves and uncharted islands for a poll like this to be accurate, and even then you can't rely on everyone participating in the poll. Therefore it is ulikely to yield useful information. I'm sure the intent was honourable enough though.
