I'm going to San Francisco this summer and I'm planning to go to the Alden store. The places I usually shop don't stock Alden's (Detroit and Toronto) so I'm going to take advantage and buy a pair at the actual store. Does anyone know is they ever go on sale? I'm getting a pair no matter what, likely the suede monk's, not going to miss this opportunity again, I should have scouted some out when I was in New York.

This was a gift from my boss. I kept it for a few months before I just sold it. It is pretty solid. Made in USA. You can't beat the quality. If I needed a sterling silver money clip I would buy a...

I just picked this up and I am pretty pleased. Just what I expected. I am pleased with the Bark. However, I wish it was a little darker. A great deal for $35. Comparable to other belts in the...

They have specials at the SF store, they don't have any kind of "no discounts ever" rule like some luxury brands. They will almost always be special run models with a few odd sizes left.
If you are in SF you also have other options for occasional discounts: Brooks Bros, Union Made, Barneys, etc.

I know J. Crew occasionally allows their discount codes to work on Aldens but I'm not sure if they ship to Canada.
If you shop in the Detroit area on occasion, you might want to check out the Claymore Shop in Birmingham. I was talking with one of the salesmen a few weeks ago and he mentioned that they do have Alden trunk shows in their store once or twice a year and sometimes have discounted prices on certain models. It might be something worth checking out.

I've been meaning to check out The Claymore Shop for a long time but I always seem to end up at my usual Sommerset haunts (AE, RL, J Crew, BB) and never venture much further.
