I have 17 months before I finish law school and take the bar, then I will be thrust into the professional world for the first time in my life. I just started working on a business wardrobe in December 11. I bought three suits (black, navy, and gray). This month I had two shirts tailored (white, white with very conservative red squares), and I bought two ties. I have two pair of black shoes by Allen Edmonds (Park Avenue, and 5th Avenue). My body doesn't allow me to get shirts off the rack at stores (which makes me very sad). So, my goal is to get one shirt made per month for the next 17 months. I am pretty conservative, I pretty much only like white shirts, and white shirts with some type of dim red pattern. I also only like dark suits. I feel real comfortable in this look. My question is does anyone have any ideas that may help me create a work wardrobe from scratch? I have about 350 a month to spend over the next 17 months. I'd be interested for input about how many suits, shirts, ties, one needs to have a manageable wardrobe.
