hello there,
long time reader, first time poster
so i'm in a bit of an atypical situation. i have a wedding to go to in April in the Caribbean. there's going to be a sort of casual reception the night before on a beach and then the next day is the actual wedding at a villa on a bit of a ridge that's facing a beach. the wedding will be at 4 p.m. and the reception the night before at 6 p.m.
so i thought to myself, oh my first outdoor wedding - seersucker - but then i thought it's at 4 p.m. so does that count as an afternoon wedding where seersucker might be inappropriate, even though it's on a tropical island?
so essentially i have 2 questions that are sort of dependent on on another., this might get complicated but please bear with me:
i have 3 different outfits in mind but not sure when i should juggle them to wear.
outfit A: plum velvet jacket, pink/white shirt, black pants (could be jeans), brown/black shoes
outfit B: midnight blue velvet jacket, white/blue/blue checkered shirt, black/blue pants (also could be jean), black/brown shoes
outfit C: white seersucker jacket, shirt/light blue/pink shirt, cream pants (though i could try to find a matching seersucker pant), white/brown shoes
so i thought about wearing outfit C to the wedding and i want to wear a bowtie for once, but then due to the time of the wedding i thought maybe it's too casual for that time (no idea), even if it is on the beach. so i thought about wearing the seersucker, with no tie or bowtie, button down shirt, jeans and loafers to the casual reception since it's on the beach and it's a get together - then i would wear either of outfit A or B to the wedding.
however, since i'm so confused about the whole 4 p.m. island wedding i thought i should wear either of outfit A or B to the wedding but there will still be daylight at 4 p.m. (sun doesn't start to set till about 5:30/6) so will i be too dressy for it in A or B and should i wear C to the wedding and then a more casual version of A or B to the reception but is A or B too dressy for a reception on the beach?
i know it sounds rather confusing but i hope someone understand wheat i'm getting at and can advise
