Maserati Quattroporte Automatic

The new automatic system should make it a strong contender for those who have previously discounted a sedan model with manual gears.
One of ten in the main piazza this morning with a police escort.
In daylight it looks wonderful and the engine sounds incredible.

I see a lot of them in Boca...they really stand out when compared to the standard barrage of S550's and 750Li's around town.

Niiiice car. Looks almost as nice as the Audi R8.

You could even roll with E, Vinny Chase, Johnny Drama and Turtle in one of those bad boys. I think it is a great looking car, as zjpj stated that car has real style.

I know I am not the target demographic, but if I could afford one I'll be damned if I get a slushbox. Probably would end up with umpteen speeding tickets though It just occurred to me that in some ways at least this Maserati is the spiritual successor to the Alfa Romeo 164 QV. Panache and style with hooligan-certified engine. Or the Thema 8.32 with the Ferrari-derived engine. I need to see one up close, I do like the lines and I am NOT even a fan of large vehicles. P.s. reluctantly though, I have to admit that the automatic will probably help sales

Well, the first manu-matic gearbox they came out with was a disaster. So, anything that actually makes this car drive like, you know, a car is a step in the right direction. Now, all they have to do is drop a DSG in there and watch the car realize its whole potential.

What's wrong with a manual sedan?

Plenty of fine sedans had a manual--old Lancias come to mind.

Nothing, inherently. However, it seems the Company thinks that having only a manual transmission these days has been hampering its sales potential with the demanding executive market.

The wife of a friend has a 2005 or so version. She loves it. Two car seats in the back too! Personally, I love it too. Nice looking, and it's unique.

The original transmission received fairly unfavorable reviews, but they have since improved it. Apparently, also, it takes some getting used to before you can shift it smoothly.

I want a Quattroporte very badly, but not an automatic.

DSG? Nobody needs german masterpieces in a Bella machina. Italian cars should be like Italian women, not like Stockfish.

Reviews came, mostly, from English race drivers. I like tiff needle. But I like "imperfections".

Big vote for the stick.

Well, technically Bugatti is Italian (um, and French and German, lol). Anyways, the DSG was developed by Borg-Warner, which is an American company.
