Last night I went to one of the better Italian restaurants in town, where local tailor Gian DeCaro was giving an informal talk. It's part of the restaurant's “Doposcuolo” series, in which dinner is accompanied by a presentation on some facet of Italian culture. Gian shared information that any regular follower of men’s styleblogs should already know, but he was quite engaging. He also berated Seattle men generally for their dressing habits (although he thanked me for dressing up). It was all in good fun, the other patrons were nice, and I met a lovely style writer for the local magazine that sponsored the event. Gian was the only man in a suit, I believe, but a few of the gentlemen there were wearing his jackets or shirts, which looked great. Being a poor civil servant, it'll be awhile before I can afford his services, but it's definitely on my to-do list.

I didn't get a pic of Gian, but here's one of me, next to his clothing rack and display table.
