Shoelaces interfering with my desire for no break

I couldn't find a thread about this but I am sure that someone has had this problem. I had the tailor hem my pants so that there would be no break. However, instead of just touching the top of the shoe upper, it hits the knots or loops of my shoelaces in random fashion and causes my pants to break. Has anyone found a way to avoid this problem, or should I just accept that I can't get a perfect lack of break?

Disregard oxfords, acquire loafers!

No break looks bad anyway.

that amount of difference (i.e. the thickness of a knot) should not result in the ruining of your look.

While I think absolutely no break ends up with the pants being too short (i do about a 1/4 break), you can just pull them up farther or have them rehemmed.

Make sure to get a slant so that the pants cover at least the top part of the shoe out back.
