I've got a similar green shirt in a gingham, I wear it with plain colored suits (Navy or Gray) and either a purple club tie or navy repp stripe tie. I would suggest muting it with a suit, but there is some room to play with the tie/shirt combo.
That shirt to me has jeans or casual chinos written all over it, wear unbottoned top button, no tie. But thats just me. If you had to brute force it to work blue, purple or navy pattern tie could work. Personally I would not bother, I do not wear Robert Graham or Etro shirts with ties full stop.

I'd love to wear them with jeans but it has french cuffs. Is that acceptable? I would think it's a bit over the top to have french cuffs with jeans.
