Wearing Brown Shoes to Work

Thread Starter

Hi everyone,

Quick question (and don't want to open up a can of worms)...Really like the look of the AE Kenilworth Dark Brown Shoes seen here: (patrick_b)

What color pants would you wear this with to work?  What is an appropriate wardrobe choice to wear dark brown shoes with?

Thanks

Clothes in general (with a few exceptions) work best with brown shoes.

Brown's incredibly versatile. I'd say you can even pull off black suits with brown occassionally..... It differently pops and stands out and in a good way.....

+1 You can't really go wrong with a brown shoe. Try to stay away from dark charcoal or black for the most part and you'll be fine. I work in a biz casual office and I don't even own black shoes. All of my shoes are some shade of burgundy, brown, tan, or walnut, so you'll be fine wearing brown shoes to work most of the time.

Charcoal with brown shoes look fine to me. Charcoal with similarly dark brown is good. Sometimes I go charcoal with lighter shade of brown but balance it out with a brighter jacket so eyes don't gravitate towards the shoes. All in all brown is a great colour for shoes. I think the only colour I would avoid with brown shoes is brown trousers.

Almost anything but black. Please buy more brown shoes and wear them. Everyone wears terrible black loafers at work and we need to start a revolution.

Might have. I doubt those sandals were black.

This^ ....and a thought or two to add....
These shoes are bluchers so explore sport coat & pant combinations over suits and wear pants of colour and texture to further contrast and compliment the shoes. Don't be afraid to try coloured laces with these shoes too.

I believe he lacked that self involved sense of irony about everything. Also, I doubt he wore one of those annoying pseudo fedoras.
