Can anyone give me a quick explanation of the different "Valentinos". I have come across Valentino Cravatte, Valentino Uomo and Valentino Roma, but not sure the differences or just differing lines of Valentino Clothing? Is one better then the other? Thanks in advance!

I am not a Valentino expert and have only ever owned one suit from them and a few casuals from the Sport sublabel. These look like different lines, all below the quality of the main couture label. I have not seen the Uomo and Cravatte sub labels for some time now, I guess they are dead and replaced by the more recent Valentino Roma. I would not break my balls getting any of these unless you get them for a pinch or they are ultra cool looking. Quality wise, nothing special, similar to Boss, Versace Collection, so on and so forth.

Cravatte is only ties, isn't it?

I've had some experience with Uomo. It's (as Klobber said) typical designer quality. By far not the worst one can do, but nothing extraordinary. Bought on (steep) sale (or secondhand), it's great!

I think you are right. I've only seen Cravatte on ties come to think of it. Can someone post a picture of the mainline Valentino so I know what I should be looking for? Thanks. Some of the Uomo and Roma stuff seems to be a good flip if picked up in the thrift stores :)

Cravatte actually MEANS tie (more or less).

The top Valentino line is 'Valentino Tailoring". It's made by Isaia and fully canvassed.

I'd avoid the other lines.

Here is an example:
