I have just received my order from them - 2 suits and 5 shirts. The first suit arrived and the jacket fitted well, the trousers were very tight, and 1 shirt a good fit. Having sent back meassurements for the trousers I have today received my second suit and the remaining 4 shirts, and supposedly re-made trousers. The jacket is now a diabolically small size ! the trousers are no improvement and the material that the shirts are made of is a cheap polyester not cotton as advertised.

I unfortunately ordered a third more expensive suit and I will try and get a refund for this order - wish me luck.

i thought Simon's presence and spiel here alone serves as deterrent for prospective customers. he writes like a used car salesman.

I have recently ordered a suit from Simon at Elite Suits.
I decided to send one of my current suits to him and get his tailors to copy the measurements.

I also needed hidden elastic at the sides, no belt loops, buttons for braces and a special yoked back of the trousers.

I found Simon to be VERY honest. He helped with Choice of fabrics, exact colours of fabrics etc etc. He was very generous with his time and help.

The website is rather awkward but after spending some time with it I now know how to go about things.

Basically you choose the style of suit (of dictate your own), choose the construction method, choose the fabric and if you're confused send through your preferences through to Simon and he will tell you how much it will cost.

The suit came back PERFECT!!!!!!!

Construction, pants, jacket, lining etc etc............... WOW.

I decided to go with EliteSuits because after a trip to Hoi An in Vietnam I return with 7 fantastic suits that fit perfectly.

However, the tailors had left some tailor chalk on them around the chest pockets so I sent them through to be drycleaned.

Now, I use this drycleaner all the time and they are very reliable.

ALL the jackets came back delaminated and bubbled................ there was a tantrum.

So from now on I decided to ONLY have fully canvassed construction.

I need custom made suits because I am a orchestral violinist by profession and a body builder, 6.4ft 128kg.

Simons company copied the dimensions of my well fitting but wrecked suit to perfection.

The first thing did when I got it was to have the jacket drycleaned. I did this to check the construction quality etc...........

No need to worry, everything went perfectly.

One more point that was very nice, all hand sewn button holes on the jacket, sleeves and pants. A very very classy touch.

I will be ordering my wedding parties suits from EliteSuits, and all my performance tuxedo's and everyday suits and jackets.

I have had bespoke tailors in Australia and New Zealand and the product from Elite Suits is just as good BUT it is fully canvassed.

I would LOVE to buy Brioni and Kiton but I can't afford them. EliteSuits suits are worn in some very classy functions and on stage and fit in very well.

Sincerely Michael

Personal experience says buyer beware. I ordered Milan suit and H&S suit. Return policy is not as described. I sent a MTM suit to China so suits could be duplicated. The Milan suit arrived and was the poorest quality suit I've purchased both in craftsmanship and fabric quality and the suit didn't fit. I contacted Elite suit and requested a refund. Since it was custom they wouldn't refund, but I could take some more measurements and send the suit back and was told the next suit would be great. I've ordered online before, but in addition to poor suit quality the customer service was just as poor.

It is quite frankly bordering a scam and I'm saying this as someone who had paid $700+ on their stuff. Customer service was actually great 2-3 years ago when I placed the order but the product is worthless. I just wished I had posted this sooner a few years ago to save people some hassle. I don't think Simon is around this forum anymore but their website is still up. In summary it was as good as any $150 fused suits made in some south asian country. Even though it was full canvas, it sure felt as stiff or more so than those fused el cheapos. The fabric was definitely not wool and most likely 100% polyester. Construction reminded me of those 90's $70 chinese made sportcoats with completely ironed to body lapels. The pile of loose excess lints were enough to knit a pocketsquare. It was so stiff and bad that I couldn't do it for more than an hour which never happened before. There's no need to elaborate anymore:

Website too dark and gloomy and far too wordy

Better website is Institchu that sells full canvass suits for $1,100 with super 150 marino grade wool.

be wary of suits that sell for less than $700 , usually something wrong with them.

$550 full canvassed 150 wool Ehaberdasher Benjamins are far better than off the rack in store halfcanvas Paul Smith, Armani, and the likes.
