recommend me a WARM jacket please

Some info: I live in Pittsburgh, so it snows quite a bit and it's just extremely cold. My budget is less than $500. I like the Canada Goose and Moose Knuckle jackets but I can't get them without going to Canada(which I am going to do in the summer if I can't find one by then). I like the look of the canada goose jackets but I am open to other suggestions. Thanks.

Where I live it's extremely cold as well. I bought a substantial down filled Tempco cold weather jacket recently. Certainly keeps me warm, seems to be well made and should last a few years, has a leather collar, wasn't too expensive though at 450 RMB, they where asking 700 for it before discount.

I've never heard of "Tempco" though, the label gives a company called Gerry Sportswear of Mercer Island, Washington, USA...along with "Made in China".

I have a BB puffer Country Club jacket with real fut trim. Original price was around $500, but I picked it up on clearance for about $250-$300. I can only wear it 10-20 days a year as it is too warm for me. I live in Philly.

The guys over in Streetwear and Denim may have more ideas for you. You might try posting there as well.

The crew over here in Men's Clothing is pretty much oriented to 'dress' clothes, wool coats, etc. etc.

I would think the Canada Goose line is a bit warm for Pittsburgh. I wear a Mountain Hardware Downtown coat in Mn. when it gets well below zero. Down in the 20's below zero. Never been cold wearing it and most importantly it covers my butt. Can't wear it over a suit but it works over sweaters. For jackets\suits I wear an older LL Bean wool commuter coat and it is as warm. One of my neighbors has a Canada Goose jacket, but he is from Canada. Have to admit he looks a lot like the pictures above when he wears it. Just saying.....
