Even for 6'10" there is something unsettling about his proportions.

Btw,

Recommendations of movies similar to this? In which the alien species is similarly enigmatic and menacing- I can't recall any such film with as polished look as this.

Similar to Alien or similar to Promethesus?

Depending on which movie I'd say the closest things I can think of are The Thing, Pitch Black, Signs, War of the Worlds (All basically Sci-fi horror involving Aliens, most of which are not as polished or necessarily as good)

More to the scale of Prometheus, actually. I would classify Alien as pure horror on a sc-fi setting... I am interested in those that have good exploration or mystery elements.

Watched Pitch Black long time ago. Couldn't remember anything.

Pitch Black is an underrated film. It hold up well to repeat viewing.

Yes; I wanted to watch it again. I recall my judgment was that it was better than Riddick. Just couldn't recall any visual (lol, was pitch black?)

Riddick was generally an average film, so yes Pitch Black is much better.

The Thing is a very good film, and the 2011 prequel very under rated too.

While not an alien based film, Sunshine is a great space sci fi, and Event Horizon is a good space horror.

If you want to see some of the themes of Prometheus (evolution, alien life and the evolution of artificial intelligence) 2001 A Space Odyssey is a superb film.

Erm. Sadly, the remake / prequel of The Thing, Sunshine and Event Horizon are all pretty bad. I'd say that EH is the best of these three, and it's still pretty flawed. 2001 is brilliant, but can be difficult to follow or understand (a good thing, in my book).

I remember liking Event Horizon a lot more when it came out, then when I re-watched it a short while back. Film doesn't really hold up.

Oh the first 3 are nowhere near the league of Alien, but are fun films, The Thing especially. I agree 2001 is a brilliant film and there's lots of similar themes in Prometheus
