Just another sounding board thread, but might be useful for some. I figure this can be about specific pieces you wish to acquire, or more general goals.
My sartorial acquisition goals of 2012:
Clean out the closet. Gotta keep it minimal. I've got ~40 pairs of (cheap) shoes I need to donate/trash/sell, 15 or so shirts, and a stack of pants before I pick up anything else.
10 MTM shirts - basic OCBDs for work
4 misc shirts - weekend/evening beaters, probably J Crew sales rack shit
Replace current chinos (dockers) with 2-3 Epaulet Rivets. Can't wait to see what WvG shows up with this year, either.
Add 2 pair of trousers (probably Epaulet Rudy)
Footwear:
black workboots - "Grail" for me would be something like Alden Black Cordo Jump boots with commando sole, or a plaintoe Indy, but Red Wing Beckman GT would be a decent stand-in.
I'm seriously tempted to pick up the Wolverine 721LTD, as well.
Dressy Wingtip boot of some sort. Haven't hashed this one out thoroughly in my head, but I plan to try and get something MTO from LSBH. Need to check the Epaulet X Carmina thread to see how that's moving along.
Outerwear:
MTM leather motorcycle jacket
Peacoat
This year I plan to tackle.. knitwear for the winter. I still have yet to find good knitwear that fits me well and have been "making do" with cheapie Merona merino v-necks from a few years back, H&M sweaters and a J Crew cardigan. The SNS Herning stuff looks amazing, but without being able to try them on, I'm hesitant to play the cop/return game. Another goal I have is to keep supporting smaller, less mass-produced labels when possible because I am a fucking hipster.
