These are not #4, they are regular #8 that must have been a display model. If you go to the store you will see #8 shells that have changed color under the shelf light.

i suppose that may be possible, but the color is consistent throughout the shoe. not just on the vamp.

since you raise this possibility, i feel i should just call them brown, through.

They don't look anything like #8 to me...all brown, no burgundy tones.

Yep, they look very much like the faded #8 display models in the Lenox store. Great color, however it came to be.

They do look like faded #8. If these are really faded shell though (any color), look under the tassels. Every display pair I've seen has remained darker under the tassels. If the color is even throughout the vamp then I'm not sure what these are.
Whatever the case, faded or not, they're lovely and I'd be very tempted if they were a 9.5!
I shouldn't have instakopped the RL C&J tassels during the last 40% off sale. Won't make that mistake again.

so sorry. The aberdeen last, in most people's opinions runs true to size.
that said, I forgot to close this listing.
the shoes were sold.

I do have the same shoe and same size in color8/burgundy shell that I am selling, if anyone is interested.
