Suggestion for a Newbie - Black Boots (dressy but comfortable)

Newbie here - and first, I need to apologize.  Normally, I am browsing the forum that I am joining (not that I am active in many forums) and read up first, before posting but with limited time and travel schedule I simply could not 'search the forum', read relevant prior posts, etc.

I am asking kindly to post any recommendations for a pair of boots that I would wear when travelling.  I know this sounds very generic but let me explain a little more.  When travelling (city visits/sightseeing/etc.), I am always wearing boots and bring only one pair of alternative shoes with me (besides my running shoes).  I am dressing normally on vacation what others would call 'business casual' (other than beach/resorts).  The boots need to be dressy enough to match sportcoats, dress shirt, etc. (my regular plane and travel outfit) but must sustain rain (not excessive but wet pavement for a couple of hours as if sightseeing/shopping/running around in NYC).

Criteria in order of relevancy:

1. Type of footwear: Boots

2. Color: BLACK (must)

3. Material: Leather (no preference which, shell maybe, calf?)

4. Purpose/looks: Dressy enough (can be plain, can be wingtip, my 'regular dress shoes are all cap toes'), can be 'rugged'

5. Sole: Anything that is not getting me wet socks if worn for 5 mins on wet pavement

6. Wearability/ Comfort: Must be able to walk in them for hours at a time (day out of hotel and doing sightseeing)

7. Condition: New/unworn

8. Availability: Ideally, in online or retail store in U.S. or Europe

9. Price (not that relevant)

The boots that I like so far:

a. C&J Northcote (but they seem to be only available in dark brown)

b. Peal & Co Cordovan Boots for Brooks Brothers (but also brown)

Any more suggestions?

Sorry for the long post - I tried to be as specific as possible.

Order C&J from their London Mail Order department, they should have it in black.

But brown boots is dressy enough, no?

Thanks for comment.  I might try the mail order route

Most of my travel wardrobe seems to match black better than brown.

Thanks for your comment, unbelragazzo.

I am not that versed in shoe/boot lingo. If Chelsea is the form/shape of the boot, it seems to be a little too plain for me.

But, on another note, I have been to the Carmina store in Palma de Mallorca, Spain before smile.gif

RM Williams Comfort Craftsman or Comfort Turnout. There is an RM Williams store in Manhattan. For lace up or chukkas, I'd go with Paraboot.
