Black shirts, what cuffs?

For example, if you are asked to adhere to an all-black dress code at a funeral, what shirt would you wear based on whether the cuffs were plain or French?

How does one establish a dress code for a funeral .. its not like there's an invite. I've never been to one with a dress code. On any account is go with either cuff.. it.doesn't matter imo.

Last funeral I went to I wore a charcoal suit, a cornflower blue shirt and a black tie. I can't see wearing a black shirt unless it's hot out and you're not wearing a jacket.
