Kind of weird, not just a shearling as the shearling is bursting out of the back as well. Still stupid cool but very different
. I will say that this has to be his strongest since S/S11. Nothing is going to touch F/W09 but that is ok for now.
I don't care what anyone says, I think the styling in his shows is always great. Maybe I'd ditch some of the accessories at times, but the combinations/layering are consistently good. In fact, I think that's why I sometimes feel let down when I see stuff in person. Even FW12—where I was at the show, saw the clothes up close, and really loved a lot of it—didn't look great to me on the store racks. You need all the pieces together. The layering is really essential. Some of the FW13 shorts, for example, look kinda shitty, but with leggings underneath save them.
I feel the same way in regards of the styling. The extra long button ups tied at the waist (only front). Those "so in right now" neck pieces under a shirt. The expert layering helps get a ton of pieces down the catwalk that otherwise would sit in the pdf buylist not to be produced.
The new Robert Geller site reminds me of the Studio-New Work site. Obvious reasons.
