I'd go with the EG's if the price differential doesn't bother you.

I have a pair of Carmina's on the Simpson Last. Nice shoes, but in terms of make, there is a reason why they are significantly cheaper than other makers.

If you wanna wear it with a suit I'd drop the Dover. Also, for wearing it with dark suits the darker brown of the Carmina Punched Captoe on Simpson Last might be the best option and I also like the chisel toe of that last. Of course you still could get the EG Russel - only on the 888 last and, for example, in bronze antique (I assume the color on the Russel picture is dark oak antique).

Hi quar, can you please elaborate? I'm considering getting a pair of Carmina's on the Simpson last as well.
