any chance people here know how the FW08 knits ran sizewise, especially the metallic stripe crewneck?

I have the cardigan and the v-neck. The cardigan runs a size small and the v-neck is TTS. Not sure if that helps, though.

I have the turtleneck in a 52 and it fits like a 48.  That runway fit is probably up one or two sizes.

~35", found a 48 for sale but the measurements seem crazy small (48cm pit, 60cm length), maybe theirs shrank in a wash?

yeah you should be a 44 or 46, my chest is 35" and 44 is fine

That sounds about right; mine's just over 49 cm pit to pit.  If 48 cm's in keeping with your sweater sizing, go for it, especially if it's the cashmere version! Soo good.

Does anyone know if this material was used for anything other than velcro high-tops?
Laced shoes / low-tops, pants, shirts, jackets, bags, anything?

I really like it, but I know I'd never wear the shoes once.

i'd wear those
from the showroom pics i've seen, i think the material wasn't used for other items

Jil Sander Men's Autumn Winter 2013/2014 collection http://www.vogue.co.uk/fashion/autumn-winter-2013/mens/jil-sander/full-length-photos/gallery/1

So much to like. Old school looks with lovely plays on volume complemented by unexpected colors like cobalt and crimson and deep green or olive and what appear to be some exquisite fabrics. On the other hand, it's also not a break from what Raf did a couple of seasons ago at Jil Sander as he was always a good match for the spirit of the house.

I thought jil aw13 looked pretty stale

it looked pretty solid but nothing ground breaking. basically +j with higher quality fabrics to me and definitely lacking that subversive raf vibe i liked.
