If you are asking if you have a couture piece the answer is obviously no.  If you are asking whether or not the piece you have was shown in the collection it's easy to tell by looking at his SS08 show.  Most of the pieces that are shown in the show get produced in some variant.

Your use of "couture" is even more vague than his use of "runway"

Sorry.  Referring to custom made designer clothing.  I guess couture could also mean any high-fashion clothes in a very broad sense.

Dude post a picture I'll tell you if it was from the runway.  Or just watch the show yourself, sometimes if it's a tee or something it's easy to overlook them because they're layered over and stuff.  But either way.

I think what he is asking is whether or not the tee is a sample piece that was used on the runway and then sold on. Most designers don't put the year and season of the item on the label so it would catch one unaware, especially if he is going by more recent collections (or different designers) which I believe don't have this notation any more?

So yeah, to answer the question if this is indeed what you are asking foxpar, Raf had the year and season on the labels of the clothing for older seasons and this was done for production items. Just seeing the label is not an indication that it is a sample piece and you will have to figure out whether it is some other way.

Hope this helps.

Nah you guys are reading into this way too much.  Raf sews a tag that says what season each item is from.  This guy bought a Raf shirt and saw the tag and wants to know if it was shown on the runway for that collection.  All he's got to do is watch the show or post a picture and we're good.

Thank you for all the replies! Sean9 is exactly right about what I wanted to know. I looked at all the looks from the show and couldnt tell from the pictures, due to the layering and low res. Then I tried to watch it on youtube, unfortunately its blocked here because of some copyright-issue :(.

I will post a picture as soon as I get it from the laundry.

Thanks again for the help!

Yes, it's well known that he includes the season and year on the tags.  What I was trying to figure out was what he meant by runway.

As I said above, most pieces shown in his collections will be produced in some form.  Maybe a specific piece will have a slightly different cut, or maybe they offer it 35 different colors, etc.

curious if anyone knows what the deal was with Raf shoes this past season. Aloha Rag and some other sites suggest that the shoes were made by Church's, but the derbies i picked up off gilt were "Made in Italy," but as far as i know Church's is in England.... eh.gif

any deals for raf simons derby ?

And are they true to size ? ie a 42 = US 9 ?

Yes, they are true to size.

They run at least half to a full size bigger.

I wear 42 in mmm gat and 41 raf derbys fit me perfectly.
I am a 45/12 and I have a pair of Raf derbies in 44 that fit only a little snug (I would say they run large by about half or three quarters of a size).

I also have a pair of Jil derbies in 44 that fit perfectly -- they are also the most beautifully constructed shoes I've ever seen, but I haven't handled Lobbs.
