He's been trying to sell that for months.

Strangely, the price keeps going UP.

Yeah, I posted it because it's really cool, but the price has gotta be at least twice retail by now.  He's got a few other kinda neat but insanely overpriced Raf items on ebay as well.

I think that jacket has been up since I started looking for Raf on ebay a few years back. And yes, the price has gone up astronomically.

a fashion-related bit:

MARTIN MARGIELA’S THIRD SHOW
fass-raf-simons-inspiriation-08-v.jpg
The main people for me when I started to look at fashion were Martin Margiela and Helmut Lang. I also had an obsession with Stephen Sprouse. Historically, Dior and Balenciaga influenced me the most. Nothing in fashion, though, has had more emotional impact on me than Martin Margiela’s third show. It was 1989, and I was an intern for Walter Van Beirendonck. He took me to two shows: this huge Jean Paul Gaultier spectacle, with the girls dressed as nuns and Neneh Cherry sitting on a Thonet chair; and Martin’s show, which was in a playground. They’d asked the kids’ parents for permission to use the playground, and they said, “Yes, but only if our kids can come.” The models appeared in long white clothes, and suddenly the kids started to play with them. It was so moving. Everyone was crying. Me too. Martin is the one who made me decide to do fashion—and when he left fashion, I decided to collect his clothes. I know his collections inside out, so I started to build an archive of them alongside my own.

The Margiela show sounds beautiful. Any more images than the one posted here? Thanks for sharing!

Thanks. Had no idea Selfridges is stocking Raf again.
Looks like everyone's put their Raf buy online at this point except Park & Bond, Por Vocacao and maybe a couple other places ...still hoping Park will restock the chain derbies in 41 or 40 frown.gif

found some here, however it claims that the photo is from margiela's second show (ss90) not the third... tongue.gif
raf brought this up quite a few times in interviews , e.g.

in Dazed Digital:
Quote:
Raf Simons: Exactly 20 years ago I saw my first fashion show, and it was the third show of Martin Margiela, the all white one. It’s in homage to Martin, but also revisiting our own past. I wanted it to be about liberation in a way as well. There’s been a lot of liberation of late – socially, psychologically, culturally – but I have a feeling that the garments were stuck.

in Interview:
Quote:
So the fourth year, I had to go for an internship. I went to Walter Van Beirendonck. I knocked on his door, and I was super scared-because I had nothing to do with fashion. But he was interested. He had absolutely zero interest in all of the fashion work I had faked to impress him. He just went straight to my industrial-design stuff. He said, "I really want you to come because, next to the fact that I am a fashion designer, I have this presentation in Paris and objects to make. I'm not a traditional designer." I ended up doing that with him, and he took me to Paris, and I saw my first show, which was the third show for Martin Margiela. Nothing else in fashion has had such a big impact on me. It was a show where half the audience cried, including myself. I was just like, "What! This is fashion?" Only at that point did I understand what fashion could be or what it could mean to people. It was the "white" show, where all the models wore dresses in white and transparent plastic. Margiela had no money at the time, so the Maison ended up going to a black neighborhood in Paris and asking if they could use a children's playground for the show. The parents said, "Yes, you can have the playground, but we want our children to be able to see it." So little black children were standing with the audience in the front row. The children started to run over to the models, and they picked them up and held them around their necks.

Yoox just put some ss11 JIL online. Kopped the floral scarf, hoping it works out as I've seen a few not-so-good fits with it.. tongue.gif
