Even though I always think we ought to look at Runway pictures to gauge how Yohji intended his runway pieces to fit, irl very few of us are that tall and stick thin at the same time lol.

icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

pictures shall be posted once I get back to my house after wearing them out for the first time, I don't think I quite have the wardrobe to support them yet but they really are one of the nicest pieces of clothing i've ever owned, they're amazing, I think I'm hooked

Okay so this was the best fit I could put together with the trousers and my tiny selection of other clothes, (if it's really awful, tell me, haha) I felt amazing going out in the trousers, albeit slightly homeless with my parka and trashed cons...
The fabric on the trousers is a lot lighter than I expected too, but they still manage to be the warmest trousers I own. Any advice/criticism on the fit would be welcome. Not sure I quite pull it off.

I picked up a pair of docs to wear with them too

Congrats on the purchase :)

I think tat the jacket does the pants a disservice and makes them look like pyjama bottoms. I think the pants (especially on your frame) have a lot of potential and I wait the chance to see it!

I agree, there's something not right about it I just think I don't own a jacket that would look nice with them, what kind of thing do you think would be good?

edit:
just tried it on with a heavier wool coat (which is actually my girlfriend's
shog[1].gif
) and I think it looks a lot nicer, still not sure I can pull them off though

slstr, I highlighted what you wrote to illustrate as long as you are happy and feeling amazing, that's all that matters. Also you have already figured out how to work with your pants differently with the DM anyway. Wearing Yohji to me is about self-gratification, you are inside your own little bubble so to speak. My advice ( since you are asking ), not criticism cos it ain't my way, is whatever you wear, comfort should always come first before style. That's where I've found YY clothing fulfilling that criterion so well :)

Re-living my childhood so to speak, recently acquired this on the cheap, good fall weather gear.

YYPH AW07 Cyborg 009 Knit Jumper ( HX-K41-947 ) - I'm quite a sucker for Japanese manga/anime since I grew up with the stuff. Looks like Yohji is a fan and admirer of the late great Shotaro Ischinomori as well since he did a few more manga knits than the Runway suggested. 100% laine wool, a light weight fabric, feels more luxurious than the Skull Man one. Size 3 roomy fit with ultra-long sleeves, black front depicting Joe Shimamura aka Cyborg 009, blue and black banded back, grey right sleeve with Argyle pattern. black and blue striped left sleeve, high roll neck. Superb comfort and complicated construction. Skull Man is like a prequel to Cyborg 009 ( if you are into manga ) so nice to have the set lol. Manga + Yohji, 2 birds in 1 stone :)

Y-3 AW08 Cargo Pants - thick 100% interlocked cotton, very roomy cut, hence size XS, Button closure, 7 belt loops + additional button waist adjustment on both sides. Zipped side pockets, back flapped pockets with concealed buttons. Big zipped knee pockets with 2 additional buttoned ones at the front. Great Yohji silhouette without being Yohji :)

YYPH AW08 YY G9 Zipped Boots - ( HE-E02-721 ), fabric/leather construction, size 2

Basic SS Tee.

exactly! i think that most of the models he use are very thin or he make some bigger items for the show. maybe possible.

but pictures can be very missleading. its very hard to judge the height and size of a model from a picture.

That video is excellent David! Thanks for posting. I would love to have one of the Kitano posters (signed if possible!) and another of the Yohji ones. The t-shirts look really cool too. Very nice to see Yohji having all these cool activities going on at the moment.

There is a very nice coming soon shirt on sale at yoox. It is white oversized. I think it would look great untucked on this. Only 32 dollars last time I checked. I own it and have worn it. The only "issue" is that it is relatively see through but it is not that bad. I am far darker and on me even it is not that bad.

slstr,

I actually like this current fit with the pants from what I can see. Is it drawstring or are you using a belt? You could definitely get away with Tshirts for now, but if you don't mind picking up new items, then getting that CS shirt like Ben is suggesting is certainly not a bad idea at all. It is definitely in line with building up a Yohji wardrobe for sure and once you pick up a nice YY/Y's/CS blazer it will be much easier to wear without thinking too much about it. Untucked oversized shirt paired with those pants, boots and a nice dark blazer would be a very typical Yohji look and be comfy as all heck. Throw a knit on top of the shirt and you should still be good for fall.

Having typed that, I actually didn't see anything "wrong" with the parka fit you posted a few days ago especially once you paired it with the Docs. Like David said, the most important thing is comfort. Like Yohji in that Leslie Kee video even a sleeveless vest tucked into pants and wearing some boots can still look cool if you are comfy in it and don't care, hehe. I guess this is a fashion/style site though so nothing wrong with going for looking cool out the gate, but just thought I would throw that out there since you were contemplating selling the pants earlier. Keep an eye out for Yohji shirts on good deals on eBay or Rakuten or Yoox and you should be able to make up multiple YY outfits with those pants without any problems.
