Yohji, Or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love The Looser Fit (Yohji Yamamoto Thread) - Page 309

I hate all of LN-CC's male styling. Havent had a look at the women's side recently so wouldn't want to judge.

New buys look great Ivwri and the whole outfit is perfect david biggrin.gif

I think my homie got same pants from A (same guy who got the skill bag in all wool thata now sold out everywhere :/ )

A pair just went for quite low on y!Jp tho not sure what fabric it was.

Anyway the non-black marsell always seems to work well.

You look like a badass Ivwri! Those textures and twisting wrinkles mesh incredibly well. You went size 4 on the shirt? I've slimmed down a bit to 150 lbs (still 5-10", 38 chest) and wondering if I would be a size 2 or stick with size 3.

Your height means at least sz 3, surely most of us here will agree. SS13 is definitely roomier in cut in the topwear than a lot lot of those SS12 Napolean Blazers in non-stretchy fabrics but I still won't call that very generous. Exception is the Look 31 Batik Blazer ( Ivwri should sooo get it ), it's absolutely enormous, with batwing sleeves no less smile.gif

Thanks Caveat! Since the top is a Tshirt it only comes in size 3 as per usual Yohji modes operandi so you won't have any issues. Will fit a little bit bigger on you since I am slightly taller, but since you can tuck the shirt as you want to thanks to the hem, you shouldn't have a problem biggrin.gif.

I was almost tempted by the look 31 iteration on ln-cc in the cupro blend I think? The batik will be pretty expensive I imagine...and I am sure is sold out already in Japan, but will keep an eye out though.

Nearly forgot to comment on your SS13 " first haul " my friend. The whole outfit worked effortlessly & beautifully. That back pic with the Aitor Throup (?) bag was just schizophrenically brilliant. I can see the the cotton & rayon fabrics are so closely matched aesthetically. To call that a Tee is such an understatement, the devil is in the detail lol. You should really get that Look 31 Batik Blazer, I tried it on in HK, it's amazing and so you. And it has size 4 too, probably still be in the sale in 3 months....
I'd like to wear some SS13 too but atm UK is still too cold. Plus I am still on my mini embroidery trip nod[1].gif and the shah, I am rather fond of this inverted egg silhouette lately.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

YYPH AW04 Embroidered Blazer - ( HJ-J58-174 ) - black, sz 2, 100% wool gabardine, very simple jacket, 3B closure, 3B non-working cuffs, long back pleat ( not vent ), 3 usual inside pockets, flapped outside ones. Exquisite asian dragon embroideried on left notch lapel, amazing details that pictures can't convey I'm afraid.

YYPH SS09 Look 15 Leather Insert Pants ( HV-P07-114 ) - posted numerous times, 100% wool gabardine, sz 3 with 38" waist ( I can put them on without undoing waist button lol ). One of the most voluminous pair of YY pants with an acute taper at the hems.

YYPH SS08 " LOVE DISEASE "  V-neck LS Tee - ( HM-T70-082 ) - 100% supersoft cotton in sz 3.

CDG H+ belt, Converse.

I am 5'9-10" and I go with size 2 on most items. I do have some size 3s and sometimes even 1s but mostly size 2. I never really had any problems with arm length either most arms are long enough if not too long. On my skinny frame, size 2 fits right in. I feel there is a difference in comfortable nonchalant oversized look and just potato sacks. Of course sizing depends on season, item etc.

Your best bet is to try it on stores make a trip out of it, but if thats not possible you have to rely on measurements.

You like that? It's actually a semi accident but i was too lazy so used some Instagram stuff to patch it up,,,, The more Yohji you wear, the more pensive you become, it's the vibe these clothes give out.

Yes it is a dragon, a little one, so Little Dragon ( 小 龍 ), do you know Bruce Lee was my uncle? smile.gif

Donnie Yen's ( who played Ip Man ) first wife Joanne all those years ago used to be a SA @ a boutique in HK called Matsuda ( called Monsieur Niclole in Japan ) which happened to be one of my favorite brands back then so I knew her rather well. # 6 Degrees Of Separation

@StevenE, yes Fist Of Fury also my favorite, Jackie Chan was a stunt double for that Jap Dude in the final fight.

I'm a die hard Bruce Lee fan really & hence drawn to the Dragon. Besides it's rather lovely.

On another note, this looks like Bowie's flashing a YYPH label. Can anyone confirm? I'd long wondered if Bowie was ever known to wear Yohji (with the other Yamamoto dominating much of the Bowie-fashion discussion). It'd certainly fit with Bowie's status as an early adopter because this came out in September of 1984, not long after YYPH's debut.

Regardless, Bowie's always seemed like a good fit for Yohji, though if it is the case here it's a shame that it appears to coincide not just with the worst album of his career, but the sleeve for one of his very worst covers (just behind dancing in the street, god only knows). You win some, you lose some.

(need to cauterise my ears by playing the original)
