I see the YY.co.jp website is now carrying a press release saying that they're going to produce a Regulation Homme line for F/W13 ("we propose a uniform wear of men love to wander freely.")  - which means F/W will herald two new Yohji Homme shows.

I'm interested. I'm assuming the womens' Regulation when it enters stores six months from now will give some indication of the expense of the line relative to the Homme/Femme offering. I'm still quite unsure where Regulation is situated relative to the mainlines, in terms of who is actually making it, price point, where it'll be stocked etc, etc etc.

I thought the boots the models were wearing in the debut Regulation show were amazing -  I'm assuming they're a specific part of the line? They could well be carried over from the mainline, which would be a shame, because they look similar to pairs I've seen.

Basically, a year from now I anticipate walking around in a boiler suit.

I think Regulation line was showcased already in the YY Femme SS13 Runway in Sep 12 which means the garments will be available shortly in the YY Boutiques, not 6 months?

As for Regulation for men, I suspected the boiler suits/overalls/aprons seen on the AW13 Runway a few weeks ago were pieces from AW13 Regulation ( someone may correct me? ) so we won't see separate shows, perhaps a separate studio presentation when the website is updated in 6 months for AW13.

Ah, OK.

I'll admit to being quite confused by Regulation- literally the very first thing I'd heard of it was when it materialised on the website, so the showcase in YYF SS13 passed me by completely. (and I'm still utterly baffled by what 'Made for Yohji People means' - are his people the people who wear him, or his design team, or what?)

Show or no show, a separate studio presentation would make me very happy indeed.

(ALSO, to answer my own question about the boots, the item code on the site is FX, which would presumably mean we're getting specific Regulation footwear)

LTTP, but thought I would throw in my own 2 cents.

Arche, I like that jacket a lot actually, but I think you might need to wear it with fewer layers? Like in the runway shot, the fact that the model just has this plain white shirt underneath it with the long sleeves allows the shape and cut of the jacket more room to "speak". So if you had a knit with extra long sleeves or a l/s tshirt with same that could work I think. Or of course, a shirt like in the runway pic.

The real issue is what pants to pair it with. Might be possible to get away with certain black pants (texture and/or shade of black), but I dunno. Shame it so obviously looks like a part of a suit. Anyway, if you do not feel comfortable in it then selling it might be the best thing. No point in locking down potential funds if you can move it on.

As for the pants, I agree with David smile.gif.

Wish I could do that misterpretender. I just never like the way a waistcoat on its own looks on me, even though I really like it on others. Lol. Great shade of blue as well.

StevenE looks like both of us will be in boiler suits come next year biggrin.gif. I actually thought the Regulation line would be very plain wool gabardine "basics" like military influenced jackets and baggy pants etc. The fact that the items seem so...I don't know the word..."un-basic" is getting my hopes up slightly for the line. Wonder if this is supposed to slot into the Y's bracket or slightly cheaper...

I don't think I have posted a picture of this full SS09 suit that I picked up from asobu on here before?

Anyway, jacket is HV-J19-305 made from a 74% linen/ 26% cupro blend that has an awesome light, sheer and slubby texture to it all in one. This suit is in my top three Yohji items based on fabric alone tbh, lol. I would probably put it around number 3/4.

The pants have some military detailing with small cargo pockets on the front and button down belt loops. The pants can be held up with a drawstring or a belt, but the waist is not the typical Yohji width anyway.

The lapels as shown above have a nice silk and ramie lining behind them with the ramie I presume used to make a mesh that covers the silk. It is a hidden detail but it pleases me every time I pick up the suit and one of the lapels moves, giving me a flash of that. A very nice "Yohji-esque" fun detail that can make you smirk to yourself or act as a talking point if one is in like-minded company.

Shoes are also Yohji and I have worn on here before. The leather on the sides is not tucked into the sole as is typical, but is allowed to continue down and overlap the sides of the heel and is another nice subtle detail.

Thanks my friend smile.gif Your outfit looks top drawer as well btw. Were they on the Runway?

No, the pants were " exchanged " @ Cambon when I went to collect the Look 23 Star Trek & Look 25 pants ( both sz 2 ) as a suit I prepaid ( untried ) in the pre-sale. The L25 pants were very slim esp in the waist ( 30" ); I can wear them but will struggle after a meal or with a shirt tucked in so wanted sz 3 instead but they were all gone. So these were the substitute ( doubt sz 2 will fit either ), the only pants I like left in store that were in my size. I happen to like them more, must be so used to all these oversized stuff that anything remotely TTS now feels weird.

I thought the Hervia ones are same style but in cotton or a cotton blend? Unless they did a typo....

Yeah you're right actually. Forgot about what fabric iteration they got, just remembered the style of the pant shog[1].gif.

As for the suit, it was not on the runway. I think there is a different iteration that was shown with silk/ramie panels on the front as opposed to underneath the lapels and the pants with the silk/ramie stripes running down the legs like tuxedo stripes and a different fabric, but not sure. asobu could probably shed more light on this than me.

Mostly sold now but LN-CC seems to have kicked its AW12 sale up a gear since I last looked - few pairs trousers, shoes round the £200 mark.
