Lol, misread an auction for what I thought was a size 3 suit and ended up with a pair of size 6 pants (normally take S/2/3). Will post some photos for posterity at some point.

Interestingly, I thought size 6 was only sold in North America, however I bought these off YJP. Not impossible by any means, just a little strange. Hopefully I'll be able to move them on eBay or the B&S...

Are they jeans/jean cut trousers/ If so they may fit since I have seen YYPH jeans sz 5/6 quoted waist is no bigger than pants in sz 3....or sometimes sz 2.

 

Also if the seller sold the sz 3 blazer and sz 6 pants as a set-up, the pants may be cut very small or have been altered?

They are definitely trousers. Like you mention, the waist is not actually that large, only ~36". The legs on the other hand are super wide+long and have very little taper, which exacerbates the oversized-ness. I only tried them on briefly last night out of curiosity

I think perhaps the seller figured that selling the trousers with the jacket would be the best way to move them. Smart move on their part when they have over eager buyers like myself haha

I see, so they are matching as a set up, you check the tags + fabrics? You can always over-shorten the legs and wear them cropped, or roll them a at least once so that the wideness is reduced smile.gif

36" is quite small for a sz 6.

Sure you can make them work.

You might be able to sell them to Man of Kent, I remember him looking for some really big pants. I think he wanted a 5...

dont sell them if they are set up... won't hurt having one big pair of pants, just balanced the gathering and you will be fine =))

Yeah they're starting to grow on me. Not an everyday pair of pants, but would be fun once in a while

they look great, almost like hakamas when not moving. Would be excellent with a long coat/blazer i think and a simple beige or light grey woolen knit.

Welcome back Parker and looking forward to the new look site icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif (I figure you were busy with that?).

Yeah TW, I also don't mind larger pants. I have a pair of striped linen pants in a size 5/6 (can't remember now) as well and love the extra length and width. The ones you got look pretty cool I think and like Parker said, you will be channeling SS00 (man, I still want at least two of those extra baggy pants from that collection).

indesertum Yohji is basically height based due to the fact that jackets fit oversized with long sleeves and dropped shoulders and wider than normal waists on the pants so best to go by how tall one is in general. If you wear an L in most other brands (and are about 6' 1") stick with a 4 (even though u could get away with size 3 stuff depending on how you want them to fit). Anyway, I put up a size guide in the OP and that has a bit more info as well.

Hope it helps. The truth is that there are no hard and fast rules of course. But that is how I and quite a few people on here think about Yohji sizing from what I have seen. I generally buy stuff in size 4 with occasional forays into size 3 if I think it will work out.
