Damn that's dope, David. Like the bottom-heavy silhouette, with these fabrics I bet it feels and looks great in motion.

The cardigan flows very nicely unbuttoned in that 010 fabric. I had it buttoned to show whoever is interested in acquiring it ( think there's a sz 3 on Y! ) may need to size up like I did due to the slim fit.

The sneakers I purchased BNWT last June in the Adele Sand Yohji sale in Paris for.....€35 :) Astonishing bargain.

Well you kinda talked me into embracing the Hakamas man:) Glad that I did though! Keen to see what they are like pairing with a blazer.

david i was about to buy that cardigan and i have the same hakamas lol cardi does run a bit small tho, when i tried it on had a thick cotton collared shirt and it was a bit snug, i imagined it would be better with a light tee.
how tall are you btw, am guessing 5'10ish since you say these are all sz3 ? i think the cardi worn open like you say would be stunning and let out a bit more of the contrasting white

I'm afraid I'm only Yohji-Sanish in height. 1.68m ( 5"6 - 5"7 ) I tried it on before the sale in Conduit and SA kept one aside as soon as presale started, grab it I did. There was another cardigan like this in the store too, can't remember the details mow. I tried on about 5 or 6 SS12 blazers, only the linen 2B boxy number with a buttoned tab for the lapel fitted well in sz 2 ( my usual sz ). Didn't try a single pair of Hakamas there lol, didn't think at the time I was tall enough to pull them off.

Someone said this cardigan may be a OS fits all piece, I ain't sure. You should get it, it's a very good non runway piece.

LOL so you grew in the last few months !?

i did try the sz3 in conduit as well, it's available in a few places still but i am hesitant. i need less black stuff ! which is why am awaiting fall (if i recall there's more color this fall?) and next spring drops

anyway, i paired the hakamas with a white tee (uniqlo ) and a Y's jacket it was pretty nice, the jacket was ramie so still light-weight. i don't have any pics but it seemed fine, i kept staring at my reflection because the novelty hadn't worn off hehe
went to St John's Bread & Wine decked in Yohji !

You may have mistaken me for someone else...I wish I was 5"10! Then again I would have plunged into bankruptcy a lot sooner if I can wear most things size 3

Yes, exactly. So goood. You could probably thrown it on easily over just about anything and make your whole look instantly better.

I just missed out on picking that up off of Yoox a while back when they had it in a size 4 :(. Sent the money across to my bro since I can't buy anything off yoox myself and by the time he got it it was gone.

Very great piece. They still have a size 3 up for grabs on yoox if anyone is interested. I think it is yoox UK USA.

What the internet causes people to forget is that clothing is as much tactile as it is visual. Even looking at high-res images you're still just getting a limited amount of information about a garment. I find that to be the biggest problem with shopping online as well. In the past two years I've returned or sold every single item I've purchased online. They never end up being exactly what I expected, and then trying to guess how a thing will fit on your body, even if you know the brand, is a whole other mess.

The internet has become over-saturated with images and information. We have an incredible amount of information at our fingertips, but it can be hard to process and keep up. I think people are so used to seeing livestreams and photos of collection after collection at show time that they become desensitized. There is only so much you can take in, and after that, instead of waiting a while before assessing a collection and trying to understand it, people simply rely on a gut reaction and either applaud or reject. Not knowing how you feel about something, when the industry pushes new moment upon new moment, is a difficult reality, because fashion is necessarily of the moment. I think people can often be rushed to a decision because of that. And once you are able to label something - it's beautiful, it's trashy, it's conservative, it's avant-garde; I think most people stop caring. I often get annoyed when people label something as "avant-garde", because it can often be used in a way by journalists or commentators to say "I don't understand it, but it's avant-garde, so I don't need to". Then again, I think that applies to lots of labels and discussions about collections. People make up their minds too quickly, and just seem to want to rush to a decision of whether they liked it or not, and then they can move on to the next season.

And I think there will always be that disconnect between image and garment. Fashion can be represented by words, by photography, by film, by a live model, but nothing compares to wearing it. It is like hearing about food, or seeing food, without ever tasting it. Clothing has to be worn to be understood. I think discussing aesthetics is possible without trying something on, but even then your understanding will never be quite complete. It sounds weird but I always feel sad I don't have the body to be able to try on women's clothing, just because I think I would understand it better if I could. As it is I can judge it by looks, rather than by feel. But then I guess you can hardly try on every menswear garment you like the look of, let alone then trying on all womenswear, so it is something you have to accept.

The flora print under the collar gives it away.

I love details like this, it makes the clothing so much more fun to wear. It's like a little secret between you and the designer.
