Yohji, Or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love The Looser Fit (Yohji Yamamoto Thread) - Page 250

I'm not sure about the sleeves, but if you're gonna go with it, i'd suggest a thinner fabric underneath to give a layering effect. Bunching sweater cuffs sort of nullifies it and actually kind of makes it looks like you just have them rolled up.

Those sleeves are cropped? I've not seen a blazer with conventional closure configuration styled like this before......anywhere. What is the size of this jacket?

tag says large!

maybe it was cropped to be worn like a wool coat on a tiny person? doesnt matter to me, its at the height that I normally want to rolly my blazer sleeves too (you can see that in my profile pic)

I will see what a thinner fabric does. Did you have a specific effect in mind?

I was just curious as that Issey jacket + sleeves looks so much shorter than the peak lapel YYPH jacket from earlier this week. I'm more anal than most about this sort of thing, but I really preferred the longer jacket on you Bene!

the length is actually about the same, maybe a few inches shorter. it looks much shorter (i think) because the t shirt is very long and the buttondown in the last pic was very short. The sleeves i think are traditional if u dont have orangatang arms, but as an SFer lovingly pointed out, i gots long arms

Also here are some detail/fabric shots Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Just something more elegant where the sleeves are flowing out of each other rather than what you have now, which is the sweater cuffs bunched up into the cropped sleeve, making it hard to tell what is even going on there.

I've got a follow up question to my last post regarding the YYPH tail-coat. Does anyone know if Yohji has done any tail coats in this style in other seasons? I'm particularly interested to know if he has done any A/W versions.

Really like that first shot Bene (and what wonders a single button being left undone can do, hehe). That sweater is pretty nice and the jacket fits you perfectly. With regards to the Issey jacket, I also fall into the camp of not really liking the sleeve length and ribbing of the sweater underneath. Definitely could do with a long-sleeved tee with no ribbing or maybe even a short sleeve top under it? I am a fan of cropped/short sleeves on jackets but something definitely looks a little off on that. Anyway, just a few thoughts on that.

In a random Yohji incidence, my wife got asked at by a nurse at the hospital whether we had lived in a muslim country before because of the way I dressed (on the day in question was wearing cream cropped low rise pants from SS '00 suit and the look 1 white shirt from SS12 runway). Thought that was pretty interesting as it is not the first time I have been asked whether I have some sort of connection to the Middle-East (either Hassidic, Arabic or Persian areas) shows how much perception can affect something I guess.

I also haven't forgotten to do the zipper suit fit pic contribution. Hosting a fashion brand launch event in our office space and plan on wearing it there so prepare for me in front of a possibly shady-looking backdrop with logos on it shog[1].gif

TW, missed commenting last time round, but I quite liked the t-shirt tuck, even though I personally would have gone for a different belt. Looked good though. That jacket fit is really perfect. Yohji works extremely well on you biggrin.gif, glad to have you in the thread.

what do you guys think about the sweater i am currently wearing with the issey jacket? or a button down? I am not as discriminating yet with what is the IDEAL sort of get up to have underneath so I am open to suggestions. For me even the cuffed looked cool smile.gif. But its great to have more options icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

i'll post different permutations sometime later based on suggestions and as i get other goodies smile.gif

Which sweater do you have? You mean the Y's Yohji Yamamoto AW05 one in burgundy? Think you and I have different iterations of the same patterned one ( which I haven't posted, but then I haven't posted a fair few things lol )

Upset with you mr shah? Am I missing something? You have PMed me the " link of the year " for which I'm eternally grateful smile.gif
